Sullivan's Annual Terry Fox Run
Sulli's annual Terry Fox Run on Thursday, October 3rd at the school was yet again successful in raising money for donation to a charity that supports cancer patients. Many people participated with determination to do something for those who are diagnosed with cancer by giving money to the school office or to others collecting donations as they ran by. Inspired by Terry, and others that were or are diagnosed with cancer, they ran or walked to show their support.
I ran a survey asking students about who they were running for. One student said, I ran for my dads step dad, my great grandmother, and my grandmother. lung cancer for my dads step dad and my grandmother who had once been diagnosed with skin cancer. Another student told me he was running for his grandpa who had been diagnosed with eye cancer. My classmate had also said she had donated five dollars and wished she would have donated more. Overall this years run had been successful in every way. The school was able to collect a lot of money to donate to the charity.
